Not only has someone damaged a bird table and thrown snowballs at the cameras outside the visitors' centre but some idiot/s have broken some of the memorial trees by the pond and thrown them on the ice ! Why ?

I am saddened to have to tell you that our lone swan, that has been part of the Park's landscape for some months now, has finally given up on the Cow Pond Lake. He was the target of snowballs and the throwing of general debris,and has flown- probably to Raphaels Park. There was little escape, as the frozen lake had just a small circle of ice free water on which were cranmmed the waterfowl. The weekend's vandalism also put pay to their numbers, which have gone from 16 down to 8. It seems that there is no respect for nature or the Park's LNR status, these days.
The Friends of Bedfords Park are a voluntary group working at Bedfords Park, Havering-atte-Bower, Romford.
